Target
Partners Again with Family Health Center
Family Health Center of Battle Creek (FHC)
announced that for the fourth year in a row,
Target has selected FHC as a recipient for
sponsorship of the centers Reach Out and
Read program (ROR). Jason Hatkowski ,
Team Leader of Target's Battle Creek store,
presented a check for $1,500 to Dr. A.J.
Jones, President/CEO of FHC. The award
will be used to purchase new books.
Since the 2004 start of FHC's ROR program,
over 6,000 books have been given to children
visiting FHC for a well-child exam.
Community partners like Target have helped
make this possible.
The sponsorship is part of Target's ongoing
efforts to help strengthen families and
communities throughout the country.
Every week Target gives 5% of its profits to
organizations that support education, the
arts, safe families and communities.
The company's national giving level reached
$3 million per week in 2007. "At
Target, we are making a real difference
every day through out sponsorship program,"
said Laysha Ward, Vice President, Community
Relations, Target. "Were proud to
partner with Family Health Center of Battle
Creek as part of our ongoing commitment to
give back to the communities where our
guests and team members live and work."
