President/Chief Executive Officer
Dr. A.J. Jones has served as the
President/Chief Executive Officer of the
Family Health Center of Battle Creek (FHC)
since 1992. He holds a clinical doctorate
degree in nursing from Rush University
College of Nursing in Chicago. His
accomplishments during his FHC tenure
include facility designing and construction,
operational redesigning, establishing and
maintaining financial viability, building
effective teams and maintaining high
performance standards to assure the Center
is recognized as an industry leader in
provision of primary health care.
Under Dr. Jones' leadership, FHC has become
a model for those seeking best practices in
the delivery of primary health care
services. Largely due to his
leadership and forward-thinking, the Center
has hosted numerous organizations from
around the U.S. to help them reach their
peak performance in today's competitive
market.
Dr. Jones works with a wide variety of
community leaders to address health
disparities in Calhoun County. Among
some of his accomplishments are a 5,000
square foot building expansion of the Battle
Creek site to provide obstetrical and
gynecological (OB/GYN) and women's health
services - completed in 2006 - and addition
of a wireless electronic medical records
system which incorporates tablet PCs for
more than 210 employees. Most
recently, he saw completion of a renovation
to the Albion site which included the
addition of the three dental operatories -
bringing the total to eight.
currently, he is overseeing a 17,000
square-foot renovation and and 28,000
square-foot expansion of the Battle Creek
site in an effort to increase access to much
needed primary health care services in our
community.
The recipient of numerous awards for his
work in serving un(der)insured individuals,
Dr. Jones continues to build capacity for
those in need. Dr. Jones believes
strongly in the mission of FHC that all
individuals have the right to considerate
service at all times with recognition of
their personal dignity.
